Step From the Blue Ridge to the Sahara
The ground floor S&W Room (named for The S&W Cafeteria Building, one of the most classic Art Deco buildings in downtown Asheville) at Hill House Bed & Breakfast is fresh and dramatic, with a beige grass-cloth wall covering. You’ll rest in a four-poster, black lacquer queen bed among wild animal and African desert prints and decor.
The S&W Room has hardwood floors, dark, muted rugs, and a small armchair and loveseat that overlook the peaceful Hill House gardens. The bathroom has dramatic black and white tiles playing against cappuccino-colored walls. Enjoy the Jacuzzi tub & shower. This ground-floor room is great for small dogs.
The S&W Room is now adjoined to the former Hill House dining room, which has been re-positioned as a private breakfast and sitting area. The suite is screened off from the passageway staff uses to enter the kitchen from the hallway, so during daytime hours guests in this sitting area will hear staff entering and leaving the kitchen (which is behind a solid wooden door). During daytime hours it will be like a personal coffeehouse lounge area, where you can hear the staff moving about behind the scenes occasionally.
Photos of the sitting area are forthcoming.
