July Events in Asheville, NC

Summer is in full swing here in Asheville! Whenever staff is not at Hill House Bed & Breakfast, they’re off exploring hidden mountain waterfalls and enjoying the abundance of exciting events. Here we have put together some of our favorites for July.

Asheville is known for its amazing artist community, and a great way to experience this is through the Downtown Asheville Festival of the Arts. It will be held at Pack Square Park downtown from 10am- 5pm on July 7th and 8th and is free and open to all ages.

One of our favorite local breweries, Highland Brewing Company, hosts its annual Solar Sundae event this month. On July 8th from 12- 4pm, enjoy a beer and an ice cream sundae while supporting The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. Ice cream is provided by Ultimate Ice Cream (a local favorite). Families are welcome, and this event is free.

Our local nature center has an exciting after hours event coming up on July 13th called Brews & Bears. From 5:30- 8pm, there will be food trucks, local beer and cider, and a special viewing of their two black bears Uno and Ursa. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at its website: https://wildwnc.org/event/brews-and-bears-july13

The Big Crafty is an biannual event Asheville locals are to sure to never miss. On July 15th, over 150 local indie artists display their wares in Pack Square Park downtown from 12-6pm. There will be food, drink and live music.

Located in the up-and-coming South Slope area in downtown Asheville, Burial Beer Co., recently started a monthly “Moonlit Art Market“, displaying wares from local artists for purchase. The next market is July 11th from 8-11pm. Stop by to enjoy a beer, live music, and support Asheville’s local artists.

The Asheville City Market occurs every Saturday from 8am- 12pm on North Market St. downtown. Come stroll down the cobble stone road and support local farmers.

2018 will be Asheville’s 52nd summer hosting Shindig on the Green! This month’s events are on July 7th, 14th and 21st, from 7- 10pm. In the lawn of Pack Square Park downtown. Bring a blanket and enjoy live bluegrass with food trucks providing BBQ from Okie Dokie’s Smokehouse and ice cream from The Hop. This event is free, open for all ages, and asks that you do not bring pets.

We hope this helps you plan some fun outings during your stay in Asheville. Keep up with our blog for more exciting events and goings on around Hill House B&B and Asheville!
