April in Asheville


Like this variegated tulip in Hill House’s garden, it appears that spring has finally sprung and it’s time to come out from hibernation and start enjoying the outdoors and some events around town! Need another reason to come rest and rejuvenate in Asheville besides our comfortable bedrooms and delicious breakfasts? Here are a few of our local handpicked April events to start your spring off right:

Of course no trip to Asheville is complete without touring the Biltmore House and this time of year the estate is in full bloom! According to RomanticAsheville.com, “during this festival of flowers, see spring evolve with a steady progression of blooms with 100,000 bulbs planted on the estate. Tulips abound at Biltmore’s main entrance and the big display in the Walled Garden with 50,000 tulips, 14,000 daffodils and 1,000 hyacinths.” Also enjoy viewing the Titanic movie Costumes at the estate on exhibit until May 13.

Known for its wealth of local artist and sustainable experts, also check out one of Western North Carolina’s many Arts and Crafts Festivals beginning with the UNCA Arts Festival (April 5th), the Mother Earth News Fair (April 28th) and the Weaverville Art Safari (April 28-29)

Hungry after a long day of touring? Why not combine your dinner with a charitable cause during Dining out for Life on April 26th. Or for something a little different, check out the Mountain Cheese Festival at Highland Brewing Company on April 29th.  

Ready for a good laugh? Join Asheville Brewing Company for their April comedy month celebration, where you can catch classic comedy movies each Wednesday and try a brand new beer released with each movie.Or check out the Grey Eagles Funny Business Presents: Joe Zimmerman on April 13.
