HILL HOUSE BED & BREAKFAST POLICIES
Guests can check-in without an appointment between 3:00 and 7:30. If it's earlier, we need to confirm that the room is cleaned and we have to ensure that the inn will be staffed prior to regular check-in hours. If it's later, we may need to discuss self-check-in procedures.
Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. on the morning of departure.
Hill House is unlike most other inns and hotels. We will only take your deposit if we actually lose money. Standard cancellation fees are $50, and are rebated if you rebook the room for a later date. Please see this *LINK* that fully explains our cancellation policy.
Third-Party Gift CardsHill House accepts most third-party gift cards, including those from BedandBreakfast.com and NCBBI. They, however, cannot be used in conjunction with the Junior Citizens, State-of-the-Month, and Single Traveler discounts.
Reservations may be made online or by calling 855-447-0002 or 828-232-0345 and are confirmed at booking. Reservations are guaranteed with a valid credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover). Reservation confirmation letters are e-mailed within 24 hours of the reservation.
For all stays, a deposit of the room's one-night rack rate is required. Deposits made with personal checks are due within five days of booking. All deposits are subject to standard cancellation policies. Balances are due upon check-in. Payments can be made using cash, personal check, traveler's check, or credit card.
Two-night stays are typically required on weekends, but single-night reservations can be made if another guest has booked a Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday stay, or if there are substantial vacancies remaining a few days before the weekend.
Guests of the Inn
Rates are based on two-person occupancy. There is a charge of $25 per person per day for additional guests. Arrangements must be made in advance of arrival. Friends of guests, who don't stay at Hill House, are welcome for breakfast. The breakfast price is $15. Taxes on all surcharges are applied as required by law.
Hill House will not accept children less than 2 years old, because their crying could disturb other guests. If other guests complain about behavior or noise of children older than two, their parents may be asked to leave and/or be subject to financial penalties. Please inform us when making your reservation if you have small children.
We allow small, adult dogs (no puppies) in the Jackson, S&W, and Flatiron guestrooms in the main Hill House building. They must be crated and quiet when guests are not in the room. Larger dogs and housebroken puppies are permitted in the Hideaway Gallery Suite, and the Pisgah Apartment. Because of guests' allergies, we unfortunately cannot accept cats. There is no pet fee, but if a dog necessitates additional cleaning or causes damage to a room, an appropriate fee will be charged. If a dog barks excessively, he will have to be boarded offsite or his companions will have to check out.
All guest rooms, interior public spaces, and the front/rear porch of the Hill House B&B Inn are NON-SMOKING. Smoking is permitted in the side yard and the porch of the Cottage. Receptacles are provided for cigarette ashes & butts. Guests are liable for a $300 cleaning fee for smoke odors in the rooms.
For the safety of all guests, no candles are to be lit in rooms. A minimum $100 cleaning fee will be assessed if candles or wax residue are found in the room upon departure.
Red wine stains can be extremely difficult to remove. Caution is advised if you are enjoying red wine in your room, since any damage to carpet or linens will be the responsibility of the guest.
Guests are responsible for the cost of all damages to the room, beyond normal wear and tear.
